Where the Connector Runs and Where We Meet You

The East West Connector picks up where Barrett Parkway ends at Powder Springs Road and runs southeast all the way to South Cobb Drive. We cover the whole length of it, 24 hours a day. That includes the Austell Road intersection with all the big-box stores and Wellstar Cobb Medical Center on the corner, the Floyd Road and Hurt Road crossings, Brookwood Drive, Fontaine Road, Cooper Lake Road and the stretch through the Concord Covered Bridge Historic District. Call 404-984-5100, tell us the nearest cross street and which direction you were headed, and we will give you a straight answer on how long we will be.

The Intersections That Back Up

Cobb County's own traffic study rates four intersections on the Connector at the worst service levels during rush hour: Powder Springs Road, Fontaine Road, South Cobb Drive and Atlanta Road. Those are exactly the places where a stalled car turns into a real problem fast. We know these lights and we know which side to approach from, which saves time when the lanes are packed.

Shopping Centers and Parking Lots

A good share of our calls along here are not on the road at all, they are in parking lots. Dead battery after grocery shopping, keys locked in the car, flat tire in a space. We work the Walmart center at Floyd Road, the Target and retail at the Austell Road intersection, East-West Commons, East-West Crossing and the smaller strip centers in between. Tight lots are not a problem, we bring the right truck for the space.

If You Break Down in Traffic

The Connector has no real shoulder in a lot of places, which makes a breakdown here more dangerous than most roads. If you can still steer, get into a parking lot or a side street rather than stopping in a travel lane. If you cannot move, stay in the vehicle with your seatbelt on and your hazards running, and do not stand between your car and traffic. Call 404-984-5100 and tell us your location and we will come to you. We also run calls in Austell and Mableton, Smyrna and Marietta, Powder Springs and Hiram, and across all of Cobb County.
